HOT PINK, DUSKY PINK, ICE CHOCOLATE.

This is the colour combo on colour create challenge this week. I love these colours so thought it would be easy but then I decided to combine it with the PTI challenge - not expecting to win that as I won last week but fun to enter using my new PTI goodies.

I love choosing the colour for the couch and the cushions - it is almost like real shopping!! The idea behind the three floral squares is to look like one of the modern prints that people have in their rooms.

It's raining men

Susie and Vicki over on Die Cut Dreams have set a challenge "It's raining men" luckily the card only has to be a male theme phew!
I've used three DCWV papers and then added a forever friends teddy and some tools.
Today started off very sad when I learnt of the unexpected death of the mother of a colleague. Yet again my cards have come in handy, I never like to have sympathy cards in stock but I had made one for 365 a few months ago and it was perfect.
So it cheered me up a lot when I got some lovely news , which was I won the PTI challenge on
http://apassionforpapertrey.blogspot.com/ first time entering as I now have my gorgeous new PTI goodies ,of which I now have more on the way yipee!!!

Craftsuprint entry

On Craftsuprint there is a competition for £1,000. You get one free download (you must chose one that is not already taken) and then you make the card and upload it. I just did mine today, but now I have seen what is on there already I doubt I will be winning. Anyway, at least I got a fab freebie I love.

Fantastic freebie

A new blog called The Creative Cottage is giving away this free download kit.......adorable. check it out now!

one, two buckle my shoe

I lurve shoes! So when I saw this challenge on 365 cards on Thursday I knew I wanted to do it. Of course I already have shoe stamps, but this digi stamp has been on my list since I first saw it. The only thing that put me off it was the fact that it is a digi stamp - and I wasn't sure I would be able to print it properly and would it look as good as others made it look etc....... Chrissie on "Simply One of a Kind" gave me a nudge and last night I bought it. Of course the beauty of digi is I got it right away. I also bought the matching handbag as it seemed rude not to LOL.

I think this is the most sophis card I have ever made, so pleased with it. I coloured the body of the shoe with a sakura pen the rest with marvey and sprinkled glitter on the embeli - not sure that shows in the photo. The paper at the bottom is flocked, I got last week from Papermania - it is eco paper so doing good at the same time ;)
Be sure to check out my next post for a fantastic freebie.

My first Anya

I bought my first set of Anya's a couple of months ago, swiftly followed by another set - but this is the first time I got to use them. I love the crisp image the stamps give. I have coloured her with Marvey pens. I also put glossy accents on her hair and the flowers. I wasn't planning to do that because I have had the stuff for ages and never use it. But I got it mixed up with my tacky glue and decided to give it a go as I have seen others use it on hair.

She is for the challenge on Anyone for Anya? Where you have to use Pink & White +1. Needless to say my +1 is the lavender die cut. As soon as I saw the challenge I knew I wanted to use my new Craftwork cards polka dot paper. It is also my first time using the die cuts too - they are from Die Cut Dreams.

My first time entering the creatalicious challenge. ~When I saw the challenge was to make a creation with this colour combo pink or plum, with burgundy and green. Also add some sort of lace, ribbon or fibre etc. I knew exactly which picture I wanted to scrap. We went to the Black Country Museum a couple of weeks ago and so this is the picture I have used on my page as it goes so well with this colour combo.
Papers are Anna Griffin - embellishments are from new K&Co collection and the adhesive lace is from my stash.

What I did on my summer holidays

Over on the Bladerubber blog the challenge is to do a scrapbook page or altered book about what you did this summer, but it must include stamping. The challenge closes on 30 Sept and there are some great prizes on offer.
I scrapped my pictures of my holiday to Northern Ireland last night, and so have decided to enter this page. The stamp at the top is a D Morgan - I have x-stitched this same scene by her (see below) and have a couple of her kits to x-s one day. The stamp (and picture) says "Heaven is a little closer in a house by the sea". This was once a library by the sea - rather than a house, although it belonged to a now ruined house, and I think it is even nearer to heaven!

Pretty pattern

Yesterday's challenge on 365 cards challenge was all about Gingham. I decided to stamp "My mothers dress" stamp onto gingham paper and cut it out. The sentiment is K&Co and I thought the daff just complemented the colour of the dress.

One of the things I have noticed since I have been doing the challenges is that I always have a really nice card when I need to send one. Recently I have had a few occasions that I did not realise I would need a card for, and I have had exactly the right card already made. I have always liked to make a card for a specific person but I am making so many lately that there always seems to be one to fit!

Just a touch

Pam on 365 cards asked for black on white image with just a touch of colour. Of course when I just re read this I realise that I didn't use black ink! I was concentrating so hard on the "touch of colour" because I thought this stamp would lend itself to that so well. I started off with black but it was too severe against the background colours. No time to re-do now, maybe she will overlook it ;)
The background paper is from a K&Co pad. I stamped the image and then used a watercolour brush to put some colour on the image from my pens.

Imagine this....technology

I have been thinking about the challenge on 365 cards since Thursday - and this image of the mice on the typewriter just kept on coming through. What I want to know is how those mice managed to type anything when half the keys are missing LOL;)
I hope the card is allowed although it is "old" technology. I think it might have been in my mind because I just bought this cute bracelet from Etsy, which reuses an old typewriter key. I learnt to type on one of those things - don't know if I would have the energy to press the keys down these days!

Cherished colour

I have now thanks to the lovely Steph my first Papertrey stamps and paper. Not used the paper yet, just looked at it, looked at it again, and ok stared at it for quite a long time LOL.

This is my first time on the A passion for Papertrey challenge and you can use any colour you like - that's it. So I chose to do this cute chair - I love this paper, it is getting down to bits of offcuts now and I don't know what I will do when it is all gone - cause it's not like I have other paper??? In fact I bought some more today - but I did NEED it, I got the "Boy" stack from DCWV and I think this is really going to help me with the cards for all the boys.

D is for die cuts

D is for die cuts is the challenge on ABC challenge this week. I made this Teashop with a couple of diecuts I got from Susie at Sassy Designs. My first attempt was this earlier posting when I did a boutique. I think I need a bit more practice but it is not bad for second attempt. I put some paper behind the door with the image of two ladies having a drink, to make it look like they are in the teashop.

Glitter

I have been having a problem with my internet access for the last two evenings. It has taken me until now to get back online so I am a bit behind now with what I wanted to do. Anywho I did this card for the glitter challenge on Stampin chic where the only stipulation is that you have to use something from the Clare Curd range. I used one of the girls from Clare's stamp set. I thought she looked like she was sitting trying on shoes so I surrounded her with shoes! There is quite a bit of glitter on the card. I doodled with the glue pen and filled in the outline stickers and then just sprinkled on glitter.

two challenges in one!

I set out to make the card for today on 365 cards which was to follow this receipe:-

5x5 Card
4 different patterned papers
3 blossoms

1 stamped (ink or digital) image
5 rhinestones

The sentiment is up to you

Once I picked my papers, which were just offcuts in my scrapbox I realised that it was also starting to fit the challenge on creative inspirations challenge which is for a card using lilac/purple and grey.

I made my own "blossoms" from layering two punched flowers and putting a rhinestone in each.

So "sweet"!

The word "sweet" has to appear on your card today over on 365 cards. I have made this card for my OH (hope he doesn't decide to visit!). The papers were free with "Crafts beautiful" mag and the sticker of jelly beans down the side is from my stash. The "forever" embelly is from Dovecraft and the "sweet" tag from a "Docrafts" kit. I used a metal gromlet on the tag from WeRMemory keepers and used my cropadile. I didn't want to use ribbon as I was trying to give it a big of a masculine feel.

I had a visit to the Clinique counter today - the ladies were very helpful in helping me choose a new foundation, trying different ones etc and also bought some powder which is supposed to stop those of us who get a little overheated showing it!!! Just need to use it now - all good intentions etc. Had a lovely lunch in town and home for a spot of crafting - great day off.

Day 191 - musical Monday

the challenge for today on 365 cards and is inspired by the song Chantilly Lace, by The Big Bopper. There was a man at work who used to do a Big Bopper impression - and pretend to take a telephone out of his coat (this is apparently what Big Bopper did - it is a bit (a lot) before my time!). Anyway, I thought of the words of the song, and the ones that stuck were - chantilly lace and big eyed girl.

I have had this stamp for a long time, it was part of a job lot on ebay. to me she looks scary with those big eyes, I photographed the stamp too, just to prove that there are two dots on her forehead - what is that about??? Now I look at the rest of the song it says "pretty face" ah well can't have everything LOL.
I didn't realise that the paper I stamped on had a grain on it, decided to leave it as I quite like the effect of the cross hatching. The lace effect is using glitter art with a piece of lace. I had to use daubers and colour her in as in a solid colour she is even scarier!

Day 190 super sketch sunday

This is the sketch you had to use on 365 cards

I decided to use some corn candy paper I had and make that the "treat" then the cone is a wizard's hat for the "trick". Trick or treat!

Background paper is DCWV. I haven't got any dies etc so it is all cut out by hand.

If you have arrived at this post please take a look at my main page blog, for an appeal for a card for a little girl who just had part of her arm amputated.

Can you help please.....

Erin at Scrap, stamp and be merry is hoping to get at least 100 people to send a card to her 13yr old neighbour Paige. She was in a serious boating accident a few weeks ago and just had part of her arm amputated. The doctors are working to save the rest, but are unsure how much they can do. Visit Erin's page to find out more.

Erin is very kindly running a candy in the hope that lots of nice crafter's will enter and send a handmade card to brighten Pagie's day so hop over and enter Erins candy and make a card for Paige.

Flights of fancy

The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is flights of fancy and it can be anything with wings - I have experimented with a new style for me and used a punch borrowed from a friend as I don't have a butterfly punch. My inspiration came from this great blog creative antics. Now my friends punch is not so big and so I couldn't do the two butterfly thing and so I went my own way!

Two of the butterflies have black bling on them (looks ok IRL LOL) and the third a regular bling stone.
