It's your day.....

I made this card for a friend who has some of those big slippers and the reason I coloured the dressing gown that way is her gown is sort of like that (best I can get it!) I am entering into the challenge on Aud Sentiments who want you to use "It's your day" and she has provided the text I have used. I then stamped part of a PTI sentiment underneath and punched it out with an SU punch. The image is rubber romance and I have coloured it with Promarkers. It also fits with Cute card Thursday challenge which is not to use any Designer papers. So I have punched the edge for a bit of detail and added a sticky patterned ribbon on the inside edge of the card.

New Home

This is a card I have made for a friend who has moved home. Rather than put new home on the front I decided to use a SU sentiment and put "in your new home" on the inside. I've coloured the stamped image with promarkers and used one of the SU vintage labels stamps as a background under the striped and punched paper (the punch doesn't show up too well in the photo) I've also put three of the negatives from the punch along the top of the card.

I'm entering into the following challenges:-
Creative inspirations - punches or dies
Passion for promarkers - anything goes

Nutshells Wedding Blog Hop

Welcome to the Nutshells Wedding Blog Hop. This is the card I have made with just a few of the lovely new Wedding stamps due to be released tomorrow. The first picture shows the front of the card. Because the stamps are acyrilic I was able to bend the sentiment to arch over my nestie and embossed shape, and then inside I stamped the car and sentiment.
If you want to be in with a chance of winning one of two full sets of the stamps then you need to visit each of the designers blogs and leave a comment. If you have started here then you need to go back to the others.

The order is
Cathy
Lynn (me)
Nutcrafters (Katie and Colette)

Happy hopping and good luck with winning the beautiful stamps.

Flight of the butterfly

Well it has been a lovely hot and sunny day. I have been in my craft room after a short trip out earlier as I am not one for laying in the sun - can't take it! I had also promised myself that i would make something with the scoreboard my friend has lent me. Now a couple of hours ago I was ready to never use a scoreboard again! However, I have persevered and made this box (with acetate panel) and card with a butterfly aperture inside. I've used SU flight of the butterfly stamp set and some stickles to hide my not so perfect cutting on the butterly aperture. the butterly on the box is using the SU punch.
I'm going to enter the card into Sir Stampalot challenge which is for butterflies and blossoms.
Don't forget the Nutshells blog hop tomorrow.

unused stash

The challenge over at ABC challenge is U for unused stash. This fitted perfectly with a piece of paper I have had for a number of year which was left over from a kit. I'd made a mental "to do" that it was going on a card sometime soon! In fact to make sure I did use most of it I even partly covered the back of the card, which is a technique I have seen on C&C and I think it does look rather nice. A sugar nellie image coloured with promarkers added on foam pads.

A lovely day.......

First of all I was off work today and what a beautiful day it has been weather wise. I got to see Kirsty Wiseman on C&C and then the postman came and delivered the goodies you can see above. I had entered a mag comp and I won £60 (!) of stash, I have never won such a big prize before for just sending my name and addy in. Also I won this on ebay.....
some of you will know of my love of mannequins. I saw this on Vicky's blog and have been bidding on one ever since. They come in a couple of sizes and at one point I hastily put in a bid going by the price alone and it was for the full size one! Luckily I got outbid as my max bid was only £8. I think I am going to do something arty with it - wait and see!
Then I went out with a friend who took me to a lovely pub for lunch, which was so big I haven't eaten since, then we went to a garden centre and nattered over a coffee and when I got home it was teatime!
I also wanted to share another Craftrak card I did which has now been received, the makings of it were on my WOYWW and it uses a stamp I saw Crafty Chris use and just had to have

more cards....

These are some more of the Craftrak cards I have made ready to be posted out. I've used all the ones Paula gave me now so have ordered some more and can't wait for them to arrive. This A7 size means they are perfect for all the little scraps I have and those embellies that I have saved from making other cards to use one day...... Those frames are from an Anna Griffin set, I had used some in my scrapbooking but there were too many for me really and so I am glad that I finally got a use for them, I really like the way the turned out. I also used one of my SU trendy tree stamps as a background to break up the white and love the effect.

stripes or spots

This is my DT card for the Nutshells challenge this week - you have to use stripes or spots or both! and you can enter as long as you use a stamp that they sell.

I've used a Nutcrafters stamp set - all the images including the sentiment are from Nutcrafters. As the stamps are acrylic I was able to "bend" the sentiment and make a banner (not an original idea by any means but can't remember where I first saw it now!). My stripes are velum paper which I layered over green card and punched the edge. I ran the background card through the dasiy cuttlebug folder. Why not pop over and join in the challenge, and remember there is a blog hop on Sunday - see my sidebar.

WOYWW 19.5

Look away now if you are of a nervous disposition! The eagle eyed will notice that the last two weeks things are still here and I have adopted the pushback approach or even pile it up approach;). I have my new PTI anniversary limited edition stamps that I got in a draw from ordering as part of a shared order - they are the clear stamps. Scraps that have been used for a Craftrak card - by the way they are great for using scraps. Purchases of stickers from Paperchase which I do not know what to do with as yet but they were cute and I liked them. A card I used my new SU vintage wheel on - just using up the last of the ink on the roller really then put my new image over the top and .......... we shall see.  Lastly a sneak peak of a card  on the left for the Nutshells blog hop this Sunday - be sure to join in - only a small one so you can be done in a jiffy and back to crafting LOL!

First Craftrak card

When I visited Paula last week she initiated me into the world of Craftrak. I had read about it but dismissed it because the blurb says "buy a card" and so the price quoted I thought was for one card and it turns out it is a pack. Anyway, Paula very kindly gave me some cards to start me off and this is my first attempt. The cards are A7 so a bit like an ATC but I have never attempted this size before. I rolled my new very vintage SU wheel over it and then used a sentiment from my new PTI anniversary set to stamp on the background in a pale green and then in a brown shade add a little frame to set it off.
There is going to be a bloghop on Sunday with some lovely prizes - see the button on my sidebar for a clue of where we will be hopping.

Twinchie

If you saw my last post you will know I have been having some blogger problems, I think I may have found the workaround now though. But that led me (along with Crafty Chris and her spring cleaning of her blog yet again!) to change my blog background and layout. It is not quite what I was trying to achieve but blogger won't play nicely (so it may change again).
I've made this card for Something Completely Different challenge, for some reason I thought it was a monthly challenge. I just went to link and found instead of butterflies and twinches, it is now flowers and twinches and not a flower in sight on this card - oh well!
Although you can't really tell, I cut around her head from a second image and mounted it over the top for a 3d effect.

Penny black sketch

I've made this card for the Penny Black challenge which is a sketch this week. I have to say that using the sketch made the card come together really quickly and I really enjoyed using it. The papers are all free ones, I used my nesties to cut the circles. Coloured the image with promarkers. Eventhough I have quiet a few penny black images now I think this is my first time at the challenge.
Sorry if I haven't got around to your WOYWW I am literally falling asleep and I have to be on the train for London tomorrow to do an important presentation. Also blogger was playing up on me and I struggled to open some blogs or leave a comment. By the way, does anybody know how I can get the "hand" to go to the pointer when authoring a post - it just won't do it anymore and I have to go to HTML to link because I can't highlight without the pointer - aaggghh!

WOYWW 12.5

Thought I might as well post this now as it is technically Wednesday. Just got back from seeing our blogging buddy Paula - had a great time and a really good laugh. Now I am too wired to go to bed!
Some of you commented last week that the shot of my desk was not near enough so I have zoomed in this week.
Some adhesive lace ready for a challenge card-except when I have used it before it seems to lift after a few days which is why most of it is still in the packaging! Some images I stamped on scrap with a free stamp from Craft Stamper mag (which I saw on Crafty Chris's blog last week and had to have - courtesy of ebay). My new twinchie B Line stamps - think I am going to do a Wharhol type thingy. Some other new stamps and the two grey rubber ones I won from Bling-kin-eck - and they are her own designs, stamp up beautifully just need to get the images on a card now.

Orange, hot pink and purple

I've made this card for the Creative Inspirations challenge blog where they want orange, hot pink and purple. I already had the image coloured in and it seemed to me to be fitting with the colours so I put the rest together around it. Used some more free papers - only a few thousand to go now LOL! I'm also entering it into Stamp something challenge -Birthdays.
I'm such a lucky girl. I took part in a PTI stamp share last year and never thought another thing about it til I found out today that because of the size of the order we get anniversary stamps and my name came out of the hat to get one of the four sets - just when I thought I would never have anymore PTI again! I have read too many horror stories of people having to track down their orders once they get in the UK that it put me off.
I can't do anymore - blogger is really playing up - had to go into HTML to link.

Show us your fancy edge!

I'm having a nightmare with blogger just now, so forgive me if this looks a bit strange. I've made this card with the cahllenge on Fab 'n' funky in mind where they want you to "show your fancy edge". I used a fiskars punch and I think really the card was too thick for it but once I had started....... did fear I had broken the punch but seems ok - won't try it again though, pity because I love the effect. I scored the front of the card with the Crafters companion board my friend has lent me as I thought I ought to do something with it! But have now watched the DVD that goes with it today, so my mind is now spinning with ideas, watch this space!
I also found it fits with the challenge on Digital Tuesday which is anything food related and a digital stamp. This is a digital stamp from TGF and is their one of their newest releases she is called HG Classy and the tea is she is drinking means it fits the challenge.

Blossoms

I've used another Bugaboo image to enter their challenge which is anything to do with flowers. You don't have to use one of their images but you get an extra chance to win if you do. I'm getting better with my colouring but am going on a promarker workshop to learn how to do it properly.  Taking my friend down to London with me for her birthday in July although she has never used promarkers - boy is she in for a treat!
I used the sketch at Allsorts and put together two DCWV papers.
I'm also entering it into
Creative craft challenge - bloomin marvellous

You are 1

I find boys cards along with men's cards hard. So having a lot of boy's cards to make is a challenge in itself - can't use any of my lovely girly stash. I started with the Bear Die Cut from Susie's Die Cut Dreams for this card and then took it from there with a big glitter 1 and using SU cardstock as the base with a DCWV mat.
I'm entering this card into:-
Cute card Thursday challenge-Boyz to men
Quixotic Challenges-baby or child's card
Stamping for the weekend-card for a male

Been at the hairdressers this morning and am now fully up to date on all the gossip and WAGs! Will be out of date now for another few weeks. I've also been to pick some material for the roman blind I am having in my soon to be decorated craft room/spare room. I'm having pale yellow walls and wanted a blue and yellow material but in a small print because the room is not that big. The man in the shop said I was about five years to late with that colour scheme! So I've ended up with a pale blue and white spotty material which I think will look nice and cheery which is what I am aiming for with a north facing room.

Challenge #37 - Psalm 139:13

This is for the challenge at Stampin Sisters in Christ who want to see real or faux stitching on your card in relation to the "knit together" reference in psalm 139. I have used my free papers yet again - third card in a row now! Just love how they all go together and they are so bright and cheery, so coloured my first Tilda - I know behind the times! to match and added a couple of flowers from my stash. I must admit she was lovely to colour and I can see the attraction although still can't get over her having no mouth LOL!
Now while I was on the challenge blog there was a card with an old sewing machine on it - just had to have it when I realised it was a digi at only $2 and what's more when I got to the site they had an offer of two FREE sets of floral designs if you spend $5 - what I would call a "no brainer". So if you want to grab a bargain too, here is the link Digi Doodle Shop.

What's cookin?

This is a card for a work colleague who loves to cook. I used the recipe on Cupcake Craft Challenge which is 3 papers, 3 ribbons and 3 flowers. On a rummage for this mulberry paper I discovered some hidden gems which I had forgotten all about - fancy! They are sure to be making it onto a card soon. I am pleased with myself because this card is mainly made with free papers. I also broke out my mould and put the sentiment down the side OMG - can you read it though! The image is a digi Bugaboo design and coloured with promarkers. You may wonder why I coloured the heel of her shoe like that, well said colleague has just bought a pair of shoes exactly like that.
I'm also entering it into Paperplay challenge where they want to see a digi and some bling.

WOYWW 5.5

I was watching a demo of the Scorepal on C&C at the weekend and a friend had lent me a couple of her scoreboards so I had a go at tiling - hopefully they will do as part of the background of a card, not sure it came out quite right. You can see some images I have coloured ready for cards and also my newest download from TGF HG Classy - couldn't wait to get her!
New SU butterfly set waiting to be used - looking quite tidy for me really.
Thought I would share with you my scrap box - now unlike our leader my scraps are small and cannot be catagorised -

see what I mean!
If you don't yet know what it is all about pop over to Julia's blog "Stamping ground" and share your desk.

More honey bunnies

This image is another one of the new digital Honey Bunnies available from Nutcrafters. If you didn't see my post yesterday there is a free digi and a chance to win all the Bunnies this week.
I used the sketch from Stamp something. I used an SU kraft card base and sentiment. The paper and velum is from my stash and is v old! The ribbon was a gift. Last week a lot of you commented that I had a lot of paper - well that wasn't all of it! and I thought my stash was quite modest LOL!

Honey Bunnies and free digi

I'm currently on the GDT for Nutshells and this is a card I have made with their latest Nutcrafters free digi image - isn't he cute. Go over there now and download him and also be in for a chance to win a whole new release of Honey Bunnies.
I'm also entering him into the challenge on Allsorts where they want any "animal" on your card, and Paperplay challenge who want you to use pastel colours.
I haven't been around much as I was in Durham last week for work. I also had a night out at the the theatre to see "when Harry met Sally" which was fab. Today I have felt rotten all day - hence the very late post! If you are a WOYWW sorry for not returning the visit but it was just too big a mountain this week!
