LIM week 61-picture inspiration

I think I took the picture inspiration over at the Less is More challenge this week a bit literally LOL! with my little rectangles. I used a nestie and and ink duster for the rectangles. I used one of my new dies and cut it into quarters, using a corner rounder at the bottom, then took three of them and inked for the flowers, with a dusting of diamond sparkles. The sentiment is from PTI, the stems are from the SU Greenhouse garden set and the flourish by Anna Griffin. I used some decal edged scissors for the edge of the card - not used those for a while!
I just found out that I won the blog candy from a fellow Limette - Faith over on Daffodil cards - thanks so much.
I just wanted to share with you another way to achieve the effect that Chrissie got on one of her cards, if you don't have that lovely die that she used.

Just use the corner of a straight edged die and place over the end of the piece you want to cut - not my idea, I saw it somewhere!

I'm also entering my card into the current challenge over at Allsorts - which is another picture inspiration challenge.
Please pop back tomorrow when I will be sharing my DT card for the monthly challenge at Penny Black and More @ Allsorts.

Handbag snippets

No new pieces of paper have been used in the making of this card, just snippets! I just love the way this card turned out. I CASED the idea from this card I found on Pinterest. I can't track down who originally made it but will credit them if I can.
I don't know how they made their handbags but I took a guess at using circle punches and then I used one of my edge punches to along the base of the bag. I used one of the SU itty bitty punches to make the little clasp for each bag. The large flower is made from a selection of my new spellbinders, just loving these they are so intricate, but you have to be careful when removing them.
So I am off to the playground at Pixie's crafty workshop to enter my card, I hear there may be a flash mob in the playground this week LOL! - see my earlier post!

LIM week 60 - Take three challenges

I finally got to make my Less is More challenge card for this week. I was in London all day on Saturday and then on Sunday took part in the flash mob - see post below. Then we went for a meal and to see the Woman in Black - I was so scared and it is only a 12a!
Anyway, I have chosen from the past challenges on LIM
white on white
die cuts
circles
I've used two of my new spellbinders dies, the splended circles and damask accents for the leaves. I did the corner embossing on my CC ultimate. Added a couple of pearls and a sentiment from a Creative Expressions set.

Rock Choir flash mob

This was what I took part in yesterday to set a world record for the most people involved in a flash mob. They took place at the same time all over the country by Rock Choir in aid of sport relief. I was in the one at the food court at the East Midlands Designer outlet at J28 of M1. I am sorry to those that said they would have liked to have come along, but the point was that it was supposed to looked unplanned and to have lots of friends stood around would have given the game away!  I am in a the short sleeves and gilet behind the soloist (who is our choir leader).
I will be back with a card!
Edited - Just in - this photo, I do hope we didn't spoil their lunch too much!

Baby snippets

I made this card from snippets of PTI papers. The digi image is from pink petticoat. A girl at work is leaving to have a baby and does not wish to know what it will be! So I had to make a card that would go either way. Everyone was very impressed with it and could not believe I had made it!
I'd like to enter it into the snippet playground with Pixie in her Crafty Workshop and also Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge-anything goes and Digital Tuesday challenge- life is just peachy.

LIM week 59-masking

I've only just got around to making my card for this week's challenge on Less is More as I have been away in Devon, only got back yesterday. A friend invited me to go down and stay in a house she has there and we had a lovely time. She showed me the sights and we visited her friends and relations and also went to see Fishermen's Friends from Port Isaac who were playing in Exeter, they were truly wonderful. I am afraid one day I was nodding in the car going back to the house as I was tired, my friend on the other hand mowed the lawn when we returned whilst I napped and she is 14 years older than me! I had a hard time keeping up with her.
Anyway, onto the card. I used Clarity stamps. First I masked the outside of the vase and used a "Charles Rennie Mackintosh" inspired stamp to give the pattern to the vase. Then I masked the vase and put the flowers into the vase. I've also put a shadow around part of the vase with a fleximarker.
I'd also like to enter the card into the challenge at Ooh La La - thank you cards.
I'm sorry if I don't get around to commenting this week, I have a lot on and am meeting myself coming back at the moment! I am going to be involved in something at the weekend which is hopefully going to see me as a part of an entry into the Guinness Book of Records- but I can't reveal more than that at the moment.

Cute as a button

I've made another card using the MCS Jewel Britannia CDrom. One of the same background papers as the card yesterday and all the elements apart from the girly are on the cdrom. The girly is from digi my world and was part of one of the free sets I won from them a few months ago. Just love working with this union jack theme for this year in fact I have it as a theme in my kitchen along with cupcakes, I'll share one day!
I'd like to enter this card into Moving Along with the Times challenge- cute as a button.
After not having been to the cinema in ages I am going again this time to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel the cinema (small Indie) even have an Indian themed meal which we are having before we see the film.

From me to you

Some of you will know that I used to have a Westie called Angus, you can see his pic at the bottom of my blog page. When I saw the set of Westie digi images from digistamp boutique I just had to have them. I've used Mac with flowers here. I actually took the digi into MCS and then coloured the flowers with promarkers afterwards. I superimposed him over a paper from the Jewel Britannia CDrom and printed another paper for the background. Really like how this card turned out. I would like to dedicate it to the memory of the little Westie Rex that by blogging buddy Cheryl lost recently.
So the card is for the CD Sunday challenge - which this week is "from me to you".
I try to enter the CD Sunday challenge each week but the last couple of weeks I just haven't got around to it, sorry ladies. BTW I just put a CDrom in the PC that I bought last November and only just got to look at it. Supposed to be patterned papers so imagine my surprise when snowmen popped up!!!!!! CD and packaging all correct but not the contents. I have just emailed the company so hopefully I will get it sorted out.

Mum's the word

I've used a fav of mine, a digi from Pink Petticoat to make this shaped card. I blew the digi up to about 6x6, then cut around it keeping a couple of points at the top to ensure it stayed with the back of the card. I've coloured it using some of the new spring promarkers and some other old favs. The sentiment stamps are from Paula Pascal on the wheel and inside from Kanban as is the small rose stamp. I also took some embroidery thread and wound it around the bobbin and then fixed it with a glue pen along the thread line. This is for the OH Mother for the day and she used to be a very keen sewer, so hope she likes it.
This is what it looks liked opened.

I'd like to enter the card into these challenges:-
Simon Says Stamp challenge -Mother's day/special girl
Crafty pad challenge -Mum's the word
Divas by design challenge- favourite things
Passion for promarkers challenge-for Mum/female relative
Cardmadfairy challenge- Mum's the word

Snippet stripes (and dots)

I've had these cupcake shaped cards for ages, of course I saw them wanted them, and then never got around to actually using them. I decided to delve into the snippet box and use these papers, the "sprinkles" are punched from a co-ordinating snippet paper. I also have lots of full sheets of this paper to use too............! I've also used a peel off from the many I still have, I know they are a bit of a no, no these days, but I am not throwing them away!
The edge was cut using on of my dies and is supposed to look like one of those fancy cupcake cases.
the card of course is for the snippet challenge over at Pixie's Crafty workshop. You really should join in, I got offered jam sandwiches last week which I haven't had for years. Mind you, you do have to watch out for the pogo sticks and that the bigger girls don't accidentally push you in the pond;)
The card is also for Aud Sentiments challenge- use "happy birthday" and Crafty Creations Challenges- stripes.
We went for a meal last night and then to see Ghostrider in 3d- not sure the 3d thing really did it for me though. At the end of the meal I was finishing my drink when I spotted a foreign object in it. It was part of a plastic cap and not a small piece either. The waitress got the manager and to begin with he was telling me how it wasn't harmful and I would be ok and it was from the drinks bottle they had used, they had 5 out of 5 ratings on all their inspections. So I said, well not today you haven't and if I hadn't been using a straw I could have choked on that piece of plastic. I felt he was being a bit, "there there". Anyway in the end he offered to take a generous £20 off the bill so all was well. I did notice that they took the plastic away as soon as I complained and so I think the lesson to learn is to keep hold of the evidence.

LIM week 58-one layer and "script"

I saw this card here, on Sue Wilson's blog and wanted to have a go at using my dies to emboss. So this is my interpretation, and as it is one layer week with "Script" over at the Less is more challenge, I've kept it simple. I've used stamps from SU French foilage and then TH inks with a duster. The "believe" sentiment is from a dimensions kit.

No winter lasts ...........

I took the inspiration for this card from the theme at Allsorts challenge- spread your wings and the colour combo from Colour Create Challenge Yellow, grey, black and white. I have had this Lavina stamp for a few months now and so pleased I finally felt I had the project I wanted to use her for. The sentiment is one of a set from Gourmet rubber stamps. I used TH mustard seed and Momento London Fog and brayered the background. I then used an ink duster to put some mustard seed on the nestie and brushed the edges with London fog. I then added silver and yellow glitter to the image with some fairy kisses diamond sparkles for good measure!
I'd also like to enter into DYSU challenge - with wings and Flutterby Wednesday challenge, a butterfly, fairy or angel.

Spring with snippets

Please scroll down for my Spring DT card for penny Black & More at Allsorts this month.

I had a lovely time in the playground last week with Di and her snippet challenge on Pixies Crafty workshop no one pulled my hair, in fact I got left so many lovely comments, thank you.
This week I have used three different snippets from my box. Inspired by new acquisition from SU, the heart punch (I used to make the flowers) and the itty bitty punches. This was one of the snippets
Such a lovely paper that I didn't want to throw any of it away, I still have a few snippets left. The punch enabled me to use the lovely ladybird and bumble bees to good effect on this card. The stamps are from American crafts.
I'd also like to enter this card into
Joanna Sheen challenge- spring is in the air
Crafty Calender Challenge -spring clean

Springtime at Penny Black & More at Allsorts

It's time for a new challenge over at Penny Black & More at Allsorts and the theme this month  is Springtime - how lovely. I wanted to get a really bright and cheery effect with my DT card and so I chose this lovely PB sunny girl with her tulips and then used papers from PTI. I've coloured her with the new limited edition spring promarkers too!
Do come and join us at Penny Black & More at Allsorts this month and see the other fab DT cards and share your creation with us. I look forward to seeing it.

I'd like to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge - anything goes.

LIM week 57 - neutrals

The challenge on Less is More this week is colour - neutrals. For some reason I had the desire to use my spellbinders with vellum today, I don't use the vellum I have very much because I am never sure what to do with it. So I took this sheet of printed vellum and stamped a sentiment onto it in expresso ink. Then I decided to cut the same shape from some cream dotty paper and layer the two together. I added a tiny butterfly punched from the vellum.
I also wanted to share this beautiful card that I received yesterday from Sheetal the winner of my blog candy  - thanks so much Sheetal, it is beautiful.

If the shoe fits......

I've made this card using a free decoupage sheet from Jak Heath. The paper I have had in my stash for forever and the ribbon was taken from some clothing at some point. I'd like to enter this card into Creative Inspirations - anything goes.
I've a stack of images that I print to fill a sheet when I want one image, I've decided that this is actually a false economy and undue pressure now to get them all used up!
Don't forget to check back tomorrow when I will have my Penny Black & More at Allsorts DT card to share.

Flahback Friday 21

The challenge on Flashback Friday 21.0 is to show your first paper pieced card. This is mine and this is the original post back in 2009. I still love this stamp and this card, I really need to use that stamp again! I do love the effect of paper piecing especially when used with a matching background.
