Poppies

I've only just made it with this card for the challenge over on Brenda's blog (Floral Fantasies) for a Poppy card. I do love Poppies (as my blog shows!). I have a lot of stamps to chose from but I had these Clarity stamps that had not yet seen ink. The poppies are actually made of two separate stamps which I joined together. I first embossed them using pomegranate embossing powder then using the resist technique brayed over them and coloured with promarkers. The sentiment is embossed with my new toy the WOW black glint powder.

LIM week 78 - sketch

The challenge on Less is More this week is a sketch. I felt like getting a little bit inky, so I used two of the spring edition TH inks onto a glass mat spritzed them and painted them onto a piece of card before stamping onto it. I embossed the main image with WOW black glint powder, although you can't really see the effect in the photo. The stamps are from a Joanna Sheen set. I used SU craft white ink to stamp the sentiment and embossed with winter dazzle powder.
I'd also like to enter the card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge - anything goes.

A is for..........

......Art Deco. I've used the Art Deco Delights CDrom from Robert Addams for all the printed elements, creating the sentiment on the PC using Hill House font and adding some peel offs. I already had the ladies cut out from a previous project where I had too many. The card should actually have another two pieces making five, but I felt it was too big a card that way, so I cut those off to use as a separate card.
I've made this card for the CD Sunday challenge which is A is for.....

Week 77 LIM - sewing

I am spoilt for choice this week on the Less is More challenge of "sewing" I have sew many! to chose from as it is one of my fav subjects. I've used a mannequin and sentiment from a Creative expressions set that I only got a few weeks ago and not had chance to use yet. An embossing folder down the edge lightly inked with TH inks, a paper pieced from PTI scrap and a couple of MS butterflies.
It also qualifies for the playground snippets challenge over at  Pixies Crafty Workshop, be gentle with me in the playground though girls I am still a bit wobbly.

Christmas in July

Today sees the new challenge on Cardmadfairy digi days which this time is Christmas in July. The weather here has been so awful it seems to fit better than the last Summertime challenge LOL! We even had hailstones the other day.
I've used Winter Jessica from Cardmadfairy digis colouring her with promarkers then adding glitter to her collar and hat. I've teamed her with papers from the Papermania collection - Enchanted. The black and white is actually vellum and then some silver embossed card from Hunkydory along the edge and for the stopper which is cut with a blossom nestie. I then added an Anna Griffin embellishment to finish the stopper. Finally I added a silver transparent sticker and some snowflakes. I can't wait to see what cards you make, just look at the rest of my teamies creations to get you in the mood!
I'd also like to enter my card into the Christmas challenge at Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT and the Christmas in July challenge at Creatalicious.

LIM week 76 - 3 of anything on one layer

I didn't think I was going to make the Less is More Challenge this week as I still have vertigo and although I have had some good days I have also had some c**p ones too. I did a card earlier in the week but it was not up to even showing, this one however I am pleased with. I used stamps from Creative Expressions and the Ltd edition Spring TH inks. I thought if TH put these three colours together, why not save heartache and just go with it - I'm glad I did. I stamped the sentiment in the Peacock feathers as the flower but blotted it first so the colour was less intense. I also sprayed some "spray and shine" just over the flowers.

Best of British inside and out

Well I am still off work and now diagnosed that my vertigo has come back - so it has taken effort on and off this week to make this one simple card. But, I am getting better, starting to notice dust, and that I have been leaving and not noticing the last couple of weeks! I mentioned in my last post how tired I was and the lovely Loli said she thought it was the tablets and it was, so I got them changed so not been as sleepy this week. Although this morning I could not get back to sleep and was up at 5am by 9.30 I felt the day was over!

For this card I've used the Docrafts cdrom Best of British, printed out the letters and decoupaged them and the beer glasses come from one of their other cdroms Forever Friends retro collection (I think it is days since I printed it out now!). I've also decorated the inside of the card using more of the same elements. I've used some retired SU cardstock for the base. The card is for a postman I know, hopefully he will see the funny side and not think coals to Newcastle LOL!
I'd like to enter the card into CD Sunday challenge - Best of British and Digital Tuesday challenge - inside and out.

LIM week 75 - GOLD

The challenge on Less is More this week is GOLD. I've simply cut out a couple of nesties in gold mirri card and one in plain white paper. The edges of the white paper have been dusted with gold glitter and in the centre is an embellishment from A Griffin.
I've now had the viral bug since 21 June and been off work for two weeks. I am bit like a puppy all of a sudden I just fall asleep, wake up, get dizzy and fall asleep again. In between that I have managed to make this card because otherwise I fear for my sanity!
I also got my first Graze box today, it was a bit like being at boarding school and receiving a tuck box, I did love Mallory Towers books. Anyway they have sent me a code for anyone who wants one, to get a free box. This is the code and the website.

free box code:7HHC9Y2C
they enter at:www.graze.com
I really enjoyed mine, yes I have eaten it already! I've put on a half a stone as I have a normal appetite but doing no exercise apart from the stairs.
I was supposed to be having my shopping delivered by Sainsbury's today but they had a chiller failure and rang about 3 hours before it was due to say that 10 items wouldn't be delivered. I asked could't they get the items from the one that is nearer to me, but apparently not, because all stores have allotted postcodes, so I had to cancel the order as I will only have to get the rest of the shopping in now anyway.
Please leave a comment at least that way I know there is a world out there.........

Summertime at Cardmadfairy

The theme for Cardmadfairy Digi days challenge is "Summertime". Now I have been optimistic and portrayed the summer we would all like - i.e. no rain! Maybe by putting that sun behind the tree I jinxed the weather LOL!
I have used for my DT card Sally from the Cardmadfairy Digi store, colouring her with promakers, and for the background the new Studio 12 cdrom Picknix - heavenly garden. The DP and ribbon were a freebie with a magazine.
Unfortunately I am still suffering with the viral bug which has exacerbated my usually dormant vertigo. But I would love to see your summertime cards, after all it may be the only summer I get to see!, just remember to use a digi.
I'd also like to enter the card into the challenge at Crafty Sentiments - "summertime" and "here comes summer at Totally Paper Crafts challenge.

Digi shoes

I love Pink Petticoat images and decided that I need to use one and some of their papers to create this card. I had some ribbon that I used on my last LIM card that I thought went perfectly with the rest of the card, a bit "my fair lady!". I coloured the shoes with promarkers and gave them a tiny glitter dusting.
I'd like to enter this card into a new challenge to me Totally Papercrafts challenge - use a digi.

Summer Blooms at Penny Black & More

This month at Penny Black & More @ Allsorts our theme is Summer Blooms. For my DT card I've used some free summertime papers and layered them up to complement this little chap having a snooze in his deckchair, I just love the way his spikes go through the material! I added some seam binding and then to make the bow combined it with a little piece of orange ribbon.
We'd love to see your cards, please remember no digis.
