Autumn sympathy

This is a card I wish I didn't have to make. One of my friends Father has just passed away, he was such a lovely man.
I've used a mask which I inked and then ran through the GC. I then used a dandelion head to stamp onto the card and then added the sentiment stamp.
I'd like to enter this card into

LIM week 87 - love and marriage

The challenge on Less is More this week is love and marriage. I don't really like doing wedding cards, probably because I don't do very many and so not as experienced in them as other cards. I won't show my first effort which I realised half way through was not LIM!
For this card I stamped in versamark the cake image onto labels 28 and used Stardust meltpowder from MCS to emboss the image. I then coloured the hearts and flowers with promarkers. I curled a congratulations acyrlic stamp to fit over the cake and embossed it in silver dollar. I then used two other label 28 dies to make the frame and ink whilst still in the frame in SU ballet blue. Finshed with a piece of sheer blue ribbon.
This morning I popped out to get these from Sticky Tiger Craft Supplies they have an offer at the moment five stamps for £5 and this is my choice. It is only up the road so I chose to collect and save on P&P. 2.5 hours after arriving to pick these up I left, sorry Nicola, I didn't realise the time! It was lovely to meet her and chat, such a nice lady and very keen on customer service. So have a look at her website for your crafting goodies.

All awash with poppies

 The inside of the card........
The challenge on CD Sunday this week is awash with flowers. I realise I am certainly awash with flowers, I had so many CDs to choose from. I decided on this Shabby chic Victorian Botanical CDrom from Debbi Moore as I haven't had a chance to use these poppies yet. My original intention was to use one of my many poppy stamps for the main image, but I loved this sentiment so much that I decided to make the whole card from elements on the CDrom.
Although you can't really tell from the pictures, i printed two colourways of the poppy paper, the one on the front is a slightly softer shade of red. I also inked around the edges of the nestie and sentiment with an Anna Griffin red ink pad, then used it to soften further the edges of the front backing paper.
I've had another nice win, this time $20 to spend at The Paper Shelter who were the sponsors for Creative Inspirations challenge last week.

A little jar of buttons

I've used a pre embossed card that features some faux stitching. Then Stamped directly onto the card the jar and buttons. I've then coloured some of the buttons, sticking real buttons over some. To follow the SU sentiment I used, one of the buttons is a heart shaped one.

I've had some nice news today. Spellbinders are running a competition on Facebook (link) to show your creations using the new dies. Names go into a hat and weekly draws are taking place in September. I've found out I won this week. The prize is a die from the new collection.  Not many entries, so you still have time to enter and be part of the grand draw at the end of the month.

I'd like to enter this card into Kaboodle Doodles challenge - stitching.

LIM week 86 - recipe

the challenge on Less is More this week is to take three of the past challenges. So I have used for this card:-

week 15 embossing
week 35 colour of your eyes
week 45 let it snow

I've used the new PB I picked up at half price again, but this time kept it simple. I stmaped with versamark and then embossed with blue powder, adding just a few little bits of bling and a sentiment by Paula Pascale.

I'd also like to enter this card into
Creative Inspirations challenge - Christmas

Craft a scene - Trees

This is the first time I have entered the challenge at Craft a scene, which this month is "trees". I was lucky enough to spot a half price sale at Crafters Companion last week and got these Sheena Douglass silhouette stamps, they arrived today, so probably the quickest I have put ink to new stamps. I did have to visit Sheena's gallery for some inspiration and so this card is inspired by one featured there.
Although it looks more blue, I actually used lilac inks for this card, but I don't seem to be able to capture that, even using a craft light, maybe I will try another photo in real daylight tomorrow. It was going to be for the purple passion challenge at Allsorts, but I didn't make it in time.
I cut out the frame using two nesties and then inked through them before removing the dies. I stamped the same tree on the background of the card but this time using memento london fog to create some depth.

More Autumn

This is another card made with the same technique as yesterday using spackle and gleams. It is another of the masks in the same set. This time I've used the label to make the actual card base.
I'd like to enter this card into the autumn challenge at One Stitch At A Time.
I can put it off no longer, I think this evening will have to be an ironing evening - boo!

Autumn

I'e been playing with my artists spackle and a mask of an acorn and this is the result. I've brushed over the spackle with adirondack inks and then added a copper gleam to the acorn itself. I've used on of the new spellbinders labels 28 to cut around it and then a freebie paper for the backing nestie. I used a leaf stamp to decorate the background. I'd like to enter it into the C.R.A.F.T challenge 172 -autumn
Off to watch The great British Bake Off now - had to post this card as the challenge is about to finish and I was determined to get the image onto a card as I did it days ago!

Mid month reminder for Penny Black & More

Just a little reminder about our challenge over on Penny Black & More at Allsorts, which this month the theme is early Christmas makes. I made this card with a PB I was lucky enough to get half price the other week! It's called Crystal Wreath, I embossed it and then used a Paual Pascal sentiment embossed in the centre. I mounted it with some new papers I got at the same time as the stamp and then some ribbon I have had for ages.
I'd like to enter this card in to the Challenge on Creative Inspirations - colour scheme.

Feline Friends

I got a pack of these sweet flower shaped cards the other week and thought I would try and use one. I am so pleased the way it turned out. I started with an image from Debbi Moore cd rom Paper delights, flutterby. I cut it out with a fluted nestie and then lightly inked the edges. I then stamped a Papermainia image and cut out and embossed using a round nestie. I then lightly brushed the card on the edges with a dew drop blue ink pad, letting it go through the apertures to produce this effect inside. I repeated the little flourish stamp inside and out as it fitted so well in the space. I'd like to enter this card into CD Sunday challenge which this week is Feline Friends and Charisma Cardz challenge - shaped cards.
It reminded me whilst printing the cd rom element. I forgot to take the supersmooth paper out of the printer when I printed the boarding cards for Paris. So OH got his printed on supersmooth but mine was on copier paper. When we boarded the plan the air stewardess remarked on the silkiness of the paper!

What's cooking?

The challenge on I love Promarkers is "what's cooking" so I got out one of my favourite MFT sets for this card and coloured with promarkers. I've used some snippets of PTI papers and cut the three with one of the centres from a new Spellbinders tag - perfect and no need to round the corners! I've also used a new stickles I bought - still not got the technique though Jules!
I'm also putting this card in the playground for Pixie's crafty workshop challenge #38 - the new furniture I took last week seemed to go down well, so I thought they deserved some nice cupcakes too, just don't get them on the new chairs!

LIM week 85 - Oval

When I saw the challenge on Less is More this week was to include an oval, I thought straight away of the new spellbinders tags. I've used one of the tags from Fancy Framed Tags One. Then browsing Pinterest I saw this silhouette image, which I loved immediately and wanted to use. So a plan formed and this is the coming together of it with a piece of a paper pad I bought the other week. The sentiment is from an Anna Griffin set. I've lightly sponged through the die before removing the card with Memento London Fog ink.

I just found this LOL!

Need for Speed

I printed all the elements for this card from Debbi Moore CDrom Vintage Travel for the challenge "need for speed" on CD Sunday. I nearly didn't get to put them together, because I got a bit stuck on how I wanted it to look, but finally I decided to finish it off with this Joanna Sheen silhouette stamp and am pleased with the result. I've used a SU sentiment and key stamp, added a pocket watch stamp and brushed over with TH pumice stone and bundled sage.

So trendy - vintage style!

The challenge on Simon Says Stamp is to use one of the following "trendy" items. So I have chosen hexagons as I already had these cut out and left over from a previous project. I used an embossing folder for the background and then brushed with TH inks. The other elements are from an SVG file.
I can't believe it is Thursday already. I have got this week off and have achieved a lot, (sorting things out, clearing out etc), but not much crafting - boo hoo.

Furniture snippets

Well Di is away from overseeing the Playground this week, so I think we could pretty much do what we like, I mean she is too far away to get back - right? I've used a PTI set On the Couch to make these two cards and of course snippets. The top one is a pre printed card blank.
Off to pop them into the playground then at Pixies Crafty snippet challenge #37, whose coming to play?

A little bit of Ooh la la and LIM

First of all here is my card for the one layer challenge on Less is More, which this week is foliage. I have just got this set of stamps and so was pleased they got to see ink so soon. I'm not too sure I like how I tried to do a pattern around the sentiment - I may do another card later on.

I have just come back from a wonderful trip to Paris. It was actually a prize I won in a competition and it was a shopping experience. We got to Paris on Friday afternoon and had a private car from the airport to our hotel and we were driven down the Champs de Elysee. It was the most wonderful boutique hotel Bel Ami - around 217euros a night so not somewhere I would normally stay. We were shown around the hotel and introduced to the staff  - from tripadvisor this appears to be the norm!

On Saturday we had time to see the Louvre, but not go inside before the shopping experience began at 1pm with a consultation for 1 hour at the hotel, getting to know my style etc. Then we were driven from boutique to boutique in a chauffeured Mercedes 360 AMG until 6pm. The OH was in his element and was quiet happy going around from place to place in the car. I had £500 spending money as part of the prize, although it didn't go very far with Paris prices. The last place we went to was Escada and even with prize money it was out of what I would spend. The personal shopper had picked out a bag there for me to see which was 880 euros - when I said it wasn't very practical for using she said it wasn't meant to be!!!!

On Sunday we had a chance to visit the Museum D'Orsay, which the last time I was in Paris had only been open a few years, and I didn't get the chance to go inside, only see to it from a river trip, so I was in my element once inside. Of course it was cooler too, the temp was 33 degrees this weekend. I have found it hard to get in an autumnal mood for this card.

Back down to earth now - with a bump!

Resistance is futile

Ok this is the last post for now with my new found addiction to wax paper resist embossing. This time I used a paisley folder and then repeated the embossing on another piece of card at the back.
I'd like to enter this into the Papertake weekly challenge - anything goes.

yum cupcake

The challenge on CD Sunday this week is - Allsorts, basically you can chose any theme you like, as long as you use something from a cd. I've chosen to use the cd rom from Studio 12 - Picknix. All the elements are from the cd. I cut out the spotty paper, sentiment and the cake and mounted them using foam pads.

I've been to the hospital today. I have apparently had vestibular neuritis - this is on the web site just about sums it up for me.....

Many people with chronic neuritis or labyrinthitis have difficulty describing their symptoms, and often become frustrated because although they may look healthy, they don’t feel well. Without necessarily understanding the reason, they may observe that everyday activities are fatiguing or uncomfortable, such as walking around in a store, using a computer, being in a crowd, standing in the shower with their eyes closed, or turning their head to converse with another person at the dinner table.

Still resisting!

If you saw my post the other day you will know I am into the wax resist method in a big way right now. This card base was the piece I put on the other side of the wax paper when I made this card. This time I have gone over the wax resist with TH pumice stone, antique linen and old paper. I stamped directly onto the card and then masked the rest of the card and sprayed the corset with C& C iridescent spray and sparkle. I punched a few butterflies and then sprayed them too. Below is a close up of the corset, but I just can't capture the true effect.

I'd like to enter this card into Paperplay challenges - thanks or appreciation and Digi doodle shop's best challenge - vintage. Digi doodle is unfortunately closing their shop and challenges - they have all their digis for $1 till the end of September.

LIM week 83 - brown and pink

I saw the challenge on Less is More was pink and brown yesterday morning, shortly before going away until this evening. So as soon as I got back I got to work. I've used one of the Spellbinder die sets "cherry blossom", using snippets for the blossoms from SU card and the branch is cut from TH Kraft-Core cordinations that I bought today. I lightly sanded it to give some texture. I've used an embossing folder inked with TH spun sugar for the background panel, with the SU sentiment stamped in TH Victorian velvet.
We were so close to Inspirations in Preston that I got to call in today on the way home. I just wished I lived nearer what a wonderful shop. Needless to say some goodies including a few half price PB stamps fell in my basket.
The card also qualifies for my snippet make this week over on Pixies Crafty Workshop challenge #36.

Early Christmas Makes at Penny Black & More

Our challenge at Penny Black & More @ Allsorts this month is Early Christmas Makes.  For my DT card I have used Penny Black stamp DK3908K "Favourite Time". I paper pieced her outfit to match the background papers, and it was tricky due to the size of the image - but I managed it LOL! I inked the edges of the papers and used a faux stitch stamp along the edges of the stripes. I've used a memory box die "frostyville border" and punched snowflakes sprinkled with diamond dazzles to complete the card. The sentiment is from a Paula Pascale set.

I do hope you can join us this month, you will get a head start on your cards, and my teamies have made some beautiful inspirational work to help you.
I'd like to enter this card into the challenges at Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT - paper piecing and  Cute Card Thursday - a stitch in time.
