Girly paper piecing

I've had this Kanban set of stamps for a while now, and these stamps haven't yet been used. I thought this dress suited paper piecing and so that is what I did, using a paper I printed from my Repro Depot cdrom book again. I used a paper for this card in the same pattern but different colour way, I had printed two, as originally I was going to use both papers on that card. Instead I have paper pieced and then cut out using the new nesties opulent ovals. The main oval is a cut from a piece of paper I used shimmer inks and a mask on sometime ago and it has been waiting for the right card to come along! The sentiment stamp is from a PB set called "wishes".
I'd like to enter the card into these challenges:-
Simon Says stamp - paper piecing
Creative Craft challenges2 - bling it up
Oldie But a goodie- glitz and glam
Creative Card Crew - girly
Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT-girly/female
Moving along with the times - bling it on

Hello Doily

I've had a day off today to wait in for my annual boiler and fire service,  and making cards is so much nicer when you don't have to do them after being at work all day! This is one of the cards I made for the challenge on CD Sunday - Hello Doily - yes doily, they want to see one on your work. I've inked mine with TH victorian velvet and combined it with papers from Debbi Moore Flower Boutique cdrom and an image which I think was from TLC.
I had a phase of when printing a digi image filling a page, I am now trying to work my way through those images, and this is one of them- only a few hundred to go then!
I didn't get all the ideas I had for crafting done today - but then I never do!

LIM week 104 - sketch

This is the sketch for the challenge on Less is More this week. My first card is also using some of my snippets. I took a piece of card and laid down a layer of cosmic shimmer glue and then ripped snippets to make a collage. I then trimmed it into a strip and de-bossed it, running some TH inks over to cover any gaps and tint the tears. The sentiment is stamped onto a predefined shape which was on one of the snippets. Finished with a little bit of bakers twine. I'd also like to put this card into the playground over on Pixies Crafty Snippets week #57.

My second card uses two TH stitching embossing folders which I lightly inked over before adding the sentiment and topper.

More vintage

I've made a few vintage cards over the last couple of weeks, but it gives me a chance to use my lovely fashion stamps. So this time I've used a TH stamp and part of a TH embossing folder set. The background papers were free with a magazine as was the sentiment stamp. I used a waterbrush to drag the ink over one of the dresses and then added some mica powder.
I'd like to enter this card into the Vintage challenge over on The Vintage Stamping Challenge.

Forever in blue jeans

The challenge on CD Sunday this week is "Forever in blue jeans". I decided to use a digi image I had (from kenny K?) and team it up with papers and tags from Debbi Moore cdrom Bella's Secret Garden. Feeling quiet pleased with myself as I managed to use an eyelet and a sentiment that was free with a mag ages and ages ago!
I then found I had another image of a girl in jeans so created this card. This uses paper from a cd rom called Repro Depot pattern book. I bought it in Liberty's a couple of years ago, it is in the form of a books showing printed samples of all the papers on the cdrom.
I'd also like to enter this card into I love Promarkers challenge which this week is "anything goes".

My fair lady

I really wanted to enter the challenge on Simon Says Stamp this week as it is for "washi tape". I have some but not really used it that much. I stamped a Sheena Douglass image and coloured with fleximarkers and then cut around with a nestie. Using the same nestie to cut the top only of a piece of paper printed from a Regency inspired papers cdrom by Debbi Moore. The washi tape is at the top of the card, but I also cut a couple of stripes to decorate her dress.
I have another version of this image by Kanban and saw the other day another version! Now, how many versions do I need???
I'd also like to enter the card into the vintage challenge on Winter Wonderland.
Hope everyone is keeping warm. Had a rough trip to work this morning on the roads but at least I made it, others were snowed in.

Flower power

I got a new camera and found that the way I used to decrease the file size of my photos with paint won't work anymore, apparently it is a glitch. I tried used photoshop but it was too long winded. Well today I actually sat down and read the instructions for the camera and discovered it has its own programme on a cd for me to install. Amazing what you find when you read things isn't it! So I have been busily reducing the file size of previous card photos only to find that when I look at them again I have been too zealous and they are pixelated. So I have just had to retake this one.
Anyway, here is a poppy memory box die, using some snippets for the heads. I used a pre embossed card base and inked over adding an SU sentiment.
I'd like to enter it into Allsorts challenge this week which is for Flower power and into the playground at Pixie's Crafty workshop #56. Sorry I didn't use the memory box dies I won from the playground - they are on the to do list!

LIM week 103- Friends

What I had planned for today didn't happen due to the weather, so I got to make cards instead. The challenge on Less is More this week is "Friends".
The second card is actually the practice stamping for the first card - if that makes sense. I decided to use a couple of my new dies and utilise that image too. The last card is another piece of embossing that Sally gave to me and is similar to this card I did the other day in design. I used chalks instead of inks this time to give a softer look for LIM. The sentiment is another A Griffin and I thought it fitted so well into that embossed circle.
I'd also like to enter into the challenge on Stamping Sensations - friendship.

Mid month reminder for Penny Black & More

Just a little reminder about the challenge over on Penny Black & More @ Allsorts for "love is in the air". I made two DT cards for this as I don't get to use these images much otherwise - of course I won't be sending both of them! To me these are a little more manly than the previous DT card I did which is a bit too girly for the OH.
Do come and join us, lots of you have already and are in the running for some great prizes as usual, also you can opt for the chance to be a GDT.

I'd also like to enter into the challenge at Craft-room challenge for valentines.

Hidden snippets

This is such a delicate card IRL - the picture doesn't do it justice. I used a piece of embossing that Sally from Crafty Salutations gave to me and lightly inked it with TH bundled sage and Victorian velvet. The stamps are from two separate Anna Griffin sets. I just love the typeface and so pleased with how well it stamped.
Now where are those snippets? Well the embossed design had some peep holes and I put the snippets behind them - can you seem them now?  Perhaps I have invented a new game for the playground - find the snippet! could catch on like looking for Jules hearts LOL!
Anyway, the playground has been very, very kind to me this week as I won the two dies that were on offer - so thanks very much, I will let anyone who wants to play nicely with them do so. But please don't throw snowballs, I don't like it.
So I am off to pop this card into the playground at Pixie's Crafty snippets #55.

Winter scene

The challenge on Craft a Scene this month is a "snowy cottage". I thought straight away of this digi from delicious doodles that I have used before. I hadn't realised previously that digis could be used on this challenge - doh!
I used MCS to give the scene a "blue" tint, colour the post box red and the wreath on the door green. Added lots of diamond sparkles for the snow and cut out using a resplendent rectangle, lightly inking the edges with TH tumbled glass, then using the same die set I cut a border and inked the edges of that, threading through some airmail twine. The sentiment was part of a set of free Christmas stamps.
Sorry to have brought you back to Christmas again! but this scene really said Christmas to me.
I also made the card with the challenge on Allsorts in mind, I notice now that it says dies and punches and I have only used a die, so not sure if it is eligible, ignore if it isn't ladies.

Vintage vogue @ CD Sunday

The challenge on CD Sunday this week is for vintage vogue. Now, where to begin as I have the majority of my cdroms fitting into this category! I decided to use a CDrom that hasn't seen much use which is the MCS Victorian Follies. I also thought I would have a bit of a play with MCS in the process but not sure you can see my efforts to appreciate it. I took the sepia background picture and made it slightly opaque so that the patterned paper behind it was visible - uhm maybe you can't see that from this photo! I stamped the base card with two stamps from an SU set "Beautiful life". Inked a doily and added some precious flowers, this is the first time they have made it onto a card - been saving them..........

LIM week 102 - one layer with sport or exercise

The challenge on Less is More this week is to make a one layer card featuring sport or exercise and of course keep it CAS. I've used an image (at the crease) and sentiment from Delicious Doodles, printed straight onto the card stock and them with a little cut n dry added some shading for grass and sky.

Art Nouveau

Well I am back on the other side, so to speak at CD Sunday. Thanks for inviting me to be a GDT for December ladies, it was great. So now, back to entering the challenges. This is my entry for the "Art Nouveau" challenge this week. I've used a Sharon Duncan cdrom - Nouveau Style for the backing papers and elements. The image is a wooden stamp I bought at a real knock down price of £2. I coloured her with promarkers. Then added a little snippet of embossing, that I had left over from another card. So back to the playground for a second time this week! entering into Pixie's Crafty Snippets #54 and
Kaboodles Doodles challenge - with a vintage theme
Simon Says Stamp challenge - New Somethig (the stamp).

Christmas snippets

I had some snippets left over from making this card and so together with a sticker I managed to make this smaller card ready for next Christmas. Wow, two resolutions in one, enter snippets challenges more often and get on with Christmas cards! Because I had been lowly doing a few Christmas cards here and there through the year, I actually didn't have too many left to make for last Christmas. so, the plan is to repeat that success in 2013.
Skipping off to the playground now to enter this into Pixies Crafty Snippets #54, I missed out on the egg nog but there were some candy canes left.

Love is in the Air at the Penny Black and More @ Allsorts challenge this month

Our challenge this month at Penny Black and More @ Allsorts is "Love is in the air". I started my DT card by using an embossing folder and then inking with TH victorian velvet and spun sugar. The heart doily was sent to me by my lovely blogging buddy Amy and I thought this was the card that it had been waiting for! I then used two stamps from the PB set "Piece of my Heart" 30-042. Cutting around each of the hedgies and mounting them onto the card.
I do hope you can join us for the challenge this month. My teamies have yet again provided wonderful inspiration and there are as always fabulous prizes to be won.
Just remember no digis!

LIM week 101 - black & white with a touch of yellow

The challenge on Less is More this week is Black and white with a touch of colour. I've chosen yellow for my touch of colour and left the rest of this Chick stick stamp uncoloured. I added a PTI sentiment and then rounded one corner and used a MS punch on the opposite corner.
I'd also like to enter this card into the Allsorts challenge this week which is CAS.

Inspired by .............

My card has been inspired by this large "book" box that I store my DVDs to be watched in. I've been looking at it for a while now, of course it has the hydrangea on it that I replicate in my stamp purchases and so that led me to think I could make a card based on it. This is the result. The hydrangea this time is from SU, the little fancy squares of paper at the corners are the very last snippets of this paper - sigh! circ 2003.
I'd like to enter this card into Pixie's Craft snippets #53 - running to the gates with minutes to spare!
