Teenage Diva

I made this card for OH Grand daughter, a lot of those quotes on the DP apply! I used a border die for the edge adding some crochet ribbon and a lace bow, and then added a handbag charm.  I used a stamp from Ladybug stamps coloured with promarkers and mounted onto two spellbinder dies, with a little spellbinder butterfly to complete the card.
I'd like to enter it into the challenge at

Handmade background

I made the background paper used on this card a while ago using the faux batik technique on Sue Wilson's DVD. I decided to cut out using the two of the spellbinder blossom dies to create the background. the flowers are a digi image coloured with promarkers. Sentiment is from Creative Expressions and embossed in purple powder.

Aged to perfection

I had a bit of a time deciding how to interpret the challenge over on CD Sunday this week which is "Aged to Perfection". Not least because I made a great card, fitted the theme perfectly, when I realised I had forgotten to use something from a cdrom! So back to the drawing board and this time I have used a cdrom, in fact I have used two, both from Debbi Moore. 100 Beautiful Sepia and Tinted vintage images for the main image and Vintage Heaven CD for the rest of the elements. I really love that background paper, shame to cover it up really! I've also used some Ranger liquid pearls in the centre of the flowers, my first time with this product and wow! they really look like pearls, fab.

Baby snippet

I was asked this week, by the same lady as last time to make a baby card, this time for twins. She liked what I had done before so I just made it a little more symmetrical as it was for two babies. They both weighed exactly the same at birth too! Now for those of you who don't keep snippets, just look how perfect they were for this card, otherwise I would have had to cut into a whole new sheet of cardstock! I used a Hero Arts flourish stamp and the rest was created on the PC.
Skipping off to the playground with this now Pixies Crafty Snippets Playground week #74 I wonder if they've got the paddling pool out, it is such a lovely day!
I'm also entering this into the Baby challenge on Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT .

LIM week 121 - humour

I needed a male birthday card and was wondering what to do when the Less Is More challenge for today came up it solved my problem. I love Bugaboo stamps and they have some very humorous quotes with them. I decided to colour this fella in greys and just add the birthday touches in red to make it clear he's a bit of a grump!
The next card also uses a Bugaboo stamp and sentiment. I decided to give her a bit of a Marj Simpson hair colour, but I got carried away with the purples instead. I've added some glossy accents to her glasses and the candle flames. To break up the background I used a mask and inked it up and then rolled over it to give the subtle square effect.
I'd also like to enter this card into the Birthday challenge at Allsorts this week to celebrate their 4th birthday.

I lost my voice completely on Wednesday afternoon at work. I tried to join a tele conference and no words came out my mouth! I went to the chemist who told me I needed Vocalzone but they had sold out. So I went to another chemist leaning in to the assistant so she could hear my faint whispering  but I think she got the idea I was going to ask for something very personal. She looked so disappointed when she realised what I wanted LOL! Still not right now - no talking for me.........

Going Green @ CD Sunday

The challenge on CD Sunday this week is "going green". I decided  to interpret the challenge literally and go for green colours and a garden. I've used the Joanna Sheen thomas Kinkade cdrom. I never had an inclination to buy this cdrom until I was a guest designer at CD  Sunday and visited other people's blogs who had used the cdrom and then I had to have it! The sentiment is from a set of stamps by Creative Expressions.

Gardening snippets

I'm on a mission (as always) to use up and recycle. The Happy Birthday came from a birthday card I was sent some years ago, the image was stamped and coloured and not made it to a card and the rest of the bits were left over from other cards. So, a job done for this one, now just need to get some more done.....
I'm entering this into the playground - been so long since I've played but I think I am just about getting back into the swing of things now, hopefully someone has saved me a swing! Pixies Crafty Snippets Playground week #73

LIM week 120 Cats and or dogs

The challenge on Less is More this week is Cats and or dogs. I used to have a Westie and so my stamps tend to feature that breed. The first card features a stamp set from Little Claire. Each image is in a little box, but I decided I wanted to use them without the frame, so I masked them off and just used the ones that seemed most suited to being off the edge. I then added a paw print stamp randomly over the card.
This is my all time favourite dog stamp! I think he is so cute. I bought him many years ago (20+) at the Ideal Home show. The sentiment stamp is from Anna Griffin and of course the paw print again.

This was an excuse to use my new D-lite window die. I thought this little Papermainia Cat looked like she would have a grand window to perch against. I added some stickles to her tiara and collar, seen better in the picture below.

I'd also like to enter this last card into the challenge at Allsorts for their theme of "True Blue".

Mid month reminder for Penny Black & More challenge

Morning everyone, anyone know when Summer starts! Anyway, onto brighter things and the mid month reminder for Penny Black & More challenge which this month is Sew Special. We want to see a card for someone special with the option of real or faux sewing. My card is ready for my MIL as my Mother is no longer with us. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Flonz.
I used PB 4164K A Rose, stamped directly onto patterned paper and then coloured with water colour pens.

LIM week 119 - one layer, coloured blank

I didn't intend to be away from blogging or crafting for quite this long. See my post below about my absence and holiday to California. I think my mojo and get up and go was left on the plane! I was starting to wonder if I was ever going to regain any enthusiasm for crafting. On top of that I managed to pull my back in a spot of Bank Holiday gardening, so after a week of suffering I decided it was time to go to the chiropractor yesterday. Hopefully I will now be on the mend.
So, I've had a go at the challenge on Less is More - which this week is a coloured card blank. First up is a car from Pilkington stamps. Stamped using TH Black soot which I then also daubed around the car trying to give it that "garage" feel. I added some bundled sage to the car itself. Finished with a SU sentiment stamp.

The next one is a Michael Powell stamp which looks lovely on the packaging, but I found a bit daunting when I opened it. So thought it ideal for a first outing, as I didn't even need to colour it in. Stamped in Memento Paris dusk, I then took a paint brush and pull some of the colour to give an illusion of a skyline.
Lastly, to give my newest stamp an outing and to use one of my gold spellbinders,I did this card. I've used the spellbinder to make the actual card, with bundled sage on the edges.
Thanks for looking, I am going to try and get back in the swing of commenting. Maybe a cup of tea first.........

PB & More May challenge - and I'm back!

Hello everyone. Our Challenge for May over at Penny Black & More is "Sew Special". We'd like to see a card or gift for someone special to you with the option of sewing "Real or faux". For my DT card I have used a set PB 30-115 Lace Delight with the sentiment and fancy label from Flonz.
I've used two spellbinder dies and an embossing folder, rubbed over with TH inks. The image is coloured with promarkers and finally I used a Gina K "stitching" stamp for the background.
I do hope you can join us this month and I look forward to seeing your entries. Just remember no digis.

Sorry to my followers for not returning comments for the last few weeks, I have been away to California on a road trip, taking in Las Vegas. I scheduled my posts but since I have been back due to jet lag and work I haven't had the time or inclination to post anything for the last few days.
I got to go to Michaels and buy these lovely goodies all on sale (notice a tree stamp which is due to the influence of my crafting buddies Sally H and Brenda)

and to another independent craft shop where I got these two masks and of course a poppy stamp

followed by a poppy x-s kit ( I have lots of others to stitch but I justified it as a reminder of the holiday/california poppies and it isn't very big!)

We started in San Francisco and went to Yosemite, Las Vegas, El Capitan Canyon, Laguna Beach and San Diego. Here are just a few highlights. It was so hot so I had to buy a big floppy hat to protect me. The two friends we went with are a bit camera shy so no photos of them!
