LIM week 209 - Little ones

I just love it when new stash coincides with a challenge theme - means I actually get to use it! So when I saw the challenge on Less Is More this week was "Little ones" to be interpreted how you wished, I immediately thought of my new "wee ones" stamps from Clarity and Barbara Gray.
My second card was actually my first card (as is usually the way!) and although I love it I thought maybe the LIM crew would prefer more white space.
So my first card uses a Sheen Douglass mask for the background and a Hobbyart sentiment stamp with a "wee one".
The second card features a must have as soon as I saw it stencil from Clarity with more Sheena masks and another Hobbyart sentiment with a wee couple on a bench.

First Rudolph Day of 2015 with Scrappymo

It's the first Rudolph Day of 2015 and the first one with it's new owner over on Scraps of Life by ScrappyMo. Sarn has handed over the reins after a fabulous job and I'm sure we are going to enjoy playing along with Mo just as much, you have until the end of January if you want to join in and share a Christmas card.
Although we only need to share one card these two cards go together as they are both snippet cards also. I cut out the Merry for the first card and used the remainder card to make the second card (still with me?). The first card also uses a snippet from another card I made as the embossed base. The stamp is from Penny Black and I used gilding flakes with flitter glue.
For my second card I used a Nicecrane image and ran it through an embossing folder rubbing over with some TH old paper ink to raise the embossing.
So, I am also off to the playground to share these cards in the snippet challenge.

LIM week 208 - sketch

Thanks so much to Less is More challenge for showcasing my card this week, I'm just delighted, thanks again.
This week the challenge is a sketch.
This is my take on it with a spellbinders lattice die cut into to form the banner a spellbinder Victorian label with a Papertrey Ink stamp and sentiment. I added the tiniest amount of Creative Expressions Diamond Sprinkles to the butterfly.

Once Upon a Time at Ooh La La Creations challenge blog

We have a new challenge over on the Ooh La La Creations challenge blog. This time we'd like to see work based on the theme of "Once Upon a Time". We'll leave it up to you how you interpret it, I've chosen to go with Cinderella using a Krafting Kimmie stamp with highlighting in promarkers and a sentiment from TLC. I've taken my papers from the fabulous Shoes in bloom Part 2 CD from Ooh La La Creations. I've used the design "Lady slipper" which I thought was apt. I took the cdrom into My Craft Studio software and tiled the shoe to create the base paper. For the pink paper I cut a curled corner from another design and imposed it over the corner of this paper. The film strip is on the cdrom, but as a quartet, I simply printed and pieced together to form a strip.
We'd love to see how you interpret the theme, see you over on the blog.

mid month reminder for Penny Black & More challenge - Stencil/masks/embossing folders

Just popping in to give you a reminder for our challenge at Penny Black & More where this month the theme is Stencils/masks/embossing folders. You can use all three or just one - it's up to you and it doesn't have to feature Penny Black products. If you want to be considered for the GDT spot then you do need to use a Penny Black stamp.
We have some fab prizes as always - so I'll see you there with your creation.
Just no digis please- we say this all the time, but still have entries that are not eligible because a digi has been used.
For my DTcard I used San Francisco 40-117 from Penny Black. Whilst I had the stamp down on the paper I lightly ran around the outline of the stamp and then cut it out. I teamed it with an embossing folder from Crafters companion on some dotty paper which I sanded back slightly. I coloured my image with aqua markers and then found some paper in my snippet box for the tattered lace die cut sentiments which toned perfectly.

LIM week 207 - Friends

Thanks to everyone who viewed by LIM card last week - it had over 120 views if not that many comments. Strange that I did that card in a matter of minutes and yet cards I spend ages over don't seem so popular.
This week on Less is more the challenge is Friends.
I started out with my faithful Papertrey Ink set for the first card, but decided I could do better so went onto MFT with a sentiment from Stamps Away and a little paper piecing and a ink pad dragged over the card. Lastly back to Papertrey Ink with the addition of part of a MFT die cut.
I'm also entering into the Snippet playground as I used a tiny snippet of Papertrey paper on my first card and last card.
Finally I'm entering the Uniko Studio challenge which is Love and friendship.

Animal antics @ CD Sunday

The challenge on CD Sunday is Animal antics. I decided to look through the "Best of La Pashe" cd rom and found this little fella. Although after I took him into MCS he is about a 5x5" inches topper now as I like to do larger sizes for special cards. I took the slice of pizza and tiled it in MCS to make the background paper, although there is a background paper on the cdrom I wanted mine to be in lines rather than the random pattern on the cdrom. I cut out a further pizza box and slice and mounted them onto foam pads. Added the text in MCS and used a brick wall as a topper backing paper. This is for a little man who loves pizza so pleased with how it turned out.

#22 Butterflies + B is for Brads

Mrs A has given the Butterfly challenge a make over. She's got a great twist, which is the challenge is still butterflies but each challenge will have an item you have to incorporate beginning with a letter of the alphabet.
So for #22 it's brads. I haven't used a brad in a long time and I made it my mission to use some stash on this card. So we have some printed butterflies and sentiment. I then cut some extra butterflies (to use more!) which I layered up using the brads. I also added a little peel off Get Well Soon and some peel off butterflies to the printed butterflies and some little flowers. All this is on a pre printed card from a pack I got with some scrap papers.
Feeling pretty good about how many things have been used on this card that haven't seen the light of day before and it also means I get to do a second entry over on Darnell's NBUS challenge.

LIM week 206 - new beginnings and One layer

I've made a few resolutions about this year - not going to share them here - obvs! I doubt they will last long LOL! So that was the thinking behind my card. I did the text in MCS and printed in green. I then added a Gina K leaf stamp and a clear cut leaf stencil over the top.
Inside a SU greeting and the stamp again.

This is for the Less is More challenge which this week is a one layer card - new beginnings.
Off to see the Theory of Everything - although such a wind blowing would be better off inside I think.

LIM week 205 - colour challenge

The Less is More challenge this week is BLACK, METALLIC + ONE. You may have seen on a previous post that I had forgotten that I had this building die! and here it is out for it's second outing already LOL! I used the free die "Georgina" free with the Tattered Lace magazine, cuttting away some of the hat and then mounting in the overall frame. I then cut "birthday" from clearyly bessotted. For me it conjures up New York 1920s.
As I used snippets for my card I'm to show the girls in the snippets playground.

Words to Inspire at Ooh La La challenge

It's time for our first challenge  of 2015 over on the Ooh La La blog. Thanks for all your entries over Christmas for our last challenge, it was lovely to see so many.
For this challenge my teamie Wynn has chosen the theme "Words to Inspire". I've used the cdrom Carnival of Colour for my card. I printed the image and then ran it through an embossing folder, adding some TH Old paper ink lightly over the top and some broken glass over the sky to enhance the embossing, I then added a Spellbinder window die. My words to inspire are from a stamp I won a couple of years ago, I'm sorry I don't what make it is, as it is unmounted.

I look forward to seeing the your entries for this challenge over the next couple of weeks.

Stencil, masks and embossing at Penny Black & More

It's time for our first challenge of 2015 at Penny Black & More and this month we would like to see you using stencils, masks and embossing on your cards. Please remember we also want to see some hand stamping too not digital please but you don't have to use a Penny Black Stamp to enter, any make will do.

For my DT card I've used PB40-236 Gardening Assistant. I first of all stamped her onto the card and then covered the image with gum glue to protect it. I then used alcohol inks with a mask to create the background with some acrylic for the cloud. I then removed the gum and left the main image uncoloured but did colour the flowers with promarkers. For the background I used a flonz butterfly stamp and sentiment. Finally I added a little die cut fence and embossed corner using a tattered lace embossing folder, which I rubbed alcohol ink over to raise the detail.

It would be lovely to see what you make this month - so please go over and share on the challenge blog and also see the wonderful inspiration from my teamies.

1st birthday card

I've used an image from All Dressed Up for this card for a little lady soon to be one year old. I took the image into MCS and enlarged it, adding some extra text and then colourised the whole image to a "purple" tone. I then used some die cuts to finish and added glitter through her hair and to the cupcake. I'm not sure you can see the glitter - here's a close up.
I'm entering this into the All Dressed Up challenge - where as usual it's anything goes.

Happy New Year 2015

Wishing everyone a very happy New Year 2015.
I was inspired by Debby to use this die - in fact I was about to buy the one she used when I remembered I had this one from Clearly Besotted unused! The sentiment die is from Tattered Lace and part of a set I got for a bargain price, so pleased with the 20 mini dies I got.

New Year resolution - sort out what I have so I know I have it!

I'm going to pop over and show this to the girls in the snippets playground as all the elements are from my snippets box.
Also the lovely Darnell has a new NBUS challenge - I really need to play along with these LOL! So I'm entering with my NBUS dies used on this card as it's "anything goes".

and finally - Countryview crafts challenge also want to see you use something new - so I'm entering there too.
