Thank you at Ooh La La Challenge blog

It's time for the new challenge on Ooh La La challenge Blog and this time Janice has chosen the theme of Thank You.

For my DT card I've chosen to use Spring Vase from the Carnival of Colour cdrom.

I put all the elements together using MCS - so the whole card is a flat image which I then mounted onto a pink die cut.

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you over at our challenge at Ooh La La, you don't have to use a cd image to enter.

Washi tape at the Male Room

The challenge over at the Male Room is for washi tape.  I've managed to use an embossing folder and stamp set that I hadn't got around to using yet. I rubbed over the embossing with some silver gilding wax. The washi tape was gh

January 2017 Rudolph Day

It's time for the first challenge of 2017 for Rudolph Day over at ScrappyMo's Blog. Although I had my card ready, I admit to forgetting it was today! But I'm here now.

I used a Clarity tree stamp and some free stamps from a magazine to create my scene. I coloured the stag with some vintage Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

Rather than mat and layer I cut the image out with a TL die to frame it. Need to keep those layers down for postage costs!

Make it male @ CD Sunday

I've used the Crafters companion Destinations cdrom to create this card. I resized the elements in MCS and then printed out and edged with a black sharpie. My sentiment is a stamp from a trimcraft set and I have used a spellbinder die to frame it.

I'm entering this card into the CD Sunday challenge - Make it Male.

mid month reminder for Anything goes challenge at Penny Black and more

It's time for a little reminder about our Anything Goes challenge over at Penny Black & More. Lots of you have already entered and are keeping us busy, but we would love to see more of you - more than once if you like! up to a max of 3 entries.

For my DT card I've used a stamp I got from the Snippets Playground as a prize. It's PB3602K dotted petals with the sentiment from the PB Patisserie set. I've used Coloursoft pencils to colour the image with a little TH antique linen over the die cut.

Thanks for looking and hope to see you over at the challenge blog.

Less is More #311 one layer week

It's time for One Layer week at Less is More challenge and the theme is "drinks". I thought a die I got at Christmas which cuts out on the edge of the fold would be perfect, as it certainly keeps it one layer! I used the spectrum noir glitter pens to add some colour. Only thing then is there is an awful lot of white space to fill. I decided to go to my fav SU sentiment set and emboss in silver powder. Finally I used one of the dies- a little umbrella- that comes with the set in the bottom corner, cutting through the base card, so still one layer.

I'm also entering this card into Darnell's latest NBUS challenge.

For a man or boy at Ooh La La Challenge Blog

Jane has chosen our new theme at Ooh La La challenge blog this time and it is "For a man or a boy".

I've chosen to use the Yesterdays Memories cdrom for my DT card,

I thought it would be fun to put the framed image within a frame itself which I cut from burnished gold card. I chose a spellbinders tag for the frame which reminded me of the frames you see underneath pictures in museums. The background paper is also from the cdrom and is of fly fishes.

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you over on the challenge blog.

Anything goes at Male Room Challenge

Last year I made a birthday book at my monthly Clarity workshop see this post here. To make the book we used an A3 sheet and cut it down and a couple of panels were left over. The OH had remarked that he loved the colours and design of the paper, so I used one to make his birthday card but I never got around to blogging it.

I added a Classic car stamp and some car part stamps I have. I also added the little black twig frame which I thought went well with the design.

I'm entering it into the Male Room challenge.

"Something new" at CD Sunday challenge

I know the Crafters Companion cdrom Bebunni floral collection has been out for some time, but I've only just got a copy so it's my "something new" for the CD Sunday Challenge.

It's a bit gloomy weather wise so I thought I would make a nice cheery card. I just love these images - so cute. I thought with the backing paper from the cdrom they didn't really need anything else.

I printed the different elements and then edged some with a black sharpie before mounting them onto card.

Thanks for looking.

Flower snippets

I have had this card blank for years, back when I used to cross stitch cards - I kept putting it back in the card box and then I decided I would use it!!!!!

So this is the result with some added die cuts from the snippets box. I also used some paints to colour the embossed flowers already on the card. I promise you in real life it looks much better than in the photo LOL!

I'm off to share in the snippets playground - there is bound to be some mischief as Miss Di is off on teacher training and Parsnip will be home alone.

Ombre at Less is More

I decided to use my aquatints on some card to make an ombre effect. The first card is one of the pieces just mounted behind a die cut straight into the base card.

For the second card I had a negative from a die cut on my desk and wondered if it would make a suitable mask. Then once I had the shape I wondered what to do with it? I thought this little deck chair and sentiment from Penny Black fitted nicely and I coloured the deckchair in the ombre effect too. I drew in some birds and then for no other reason than it was on my desk added a plastic circle in the sky to balance the composition. I cut it out with a Lawn Fawn rectangle stitched die and then mounted onto the base card.

I'm entering these cards into the colour challenge for Ombre over at Less is More.

Cats or dogs at Allsorts challenge

I made this card a while ago while messing about with various frames and embelshiments in Craft Artist. I printed it out and added some flower ribbons which had been in my stash for ever - I thought they complemented the printed work.

I'm sharing today as it fits the challenge theme over on Allsorts challenge which is for Cats or dogs.

Feminine at Ooh La La Challenge blog

It's time for our first challenge of 2017 over on the Ooh La La Challenge blog. Debs has chosen the theme for the challenge which is Feminine.

For my DT card I've used the Paula Oakley Collection cdrom.

I printed the backing paper directly onto my card and then scored to make the folds. I then printed the other elements and mounted onto the card.

Thanks for looking and we hope to see you over on the challenge blog.

Anything goes at Penny Black & More challenge

Happy New Year to everyone and I wish you all a wonderful 2017.

It's time for our new challenge at Penny Black & More. We've made it nice and easy for you with "Anything goes" - just be sure to make a stamp the focal point of your card and no digis, otherwise it's a free reign.

As always there are fabulous prizes up for grabs - this time from Penny Black, Crafty ribbons and Tattered Lace.

For my DT card I used Penny Black Patisserie and Uptown stamp sets with the greeting from Hot rod. I started by stamping the houses and masking them off then making a sky with pan pastels and then used aqua tints for the remainder of the background. The Patisserie stamp I stamped separately and mounted onto the card. I used coloursoft pencils to colour everything.

Thanks for looking and hope to see you at the Challenge blog.
