Day 122 It's a wrap!

The challenge on 365 cards today is to make a card using wrapping paper. I buy wrapping paper if I like the design for scrapbooking (yes, I know - it is not acid and lignum free and will go a horrible colour eventually!). So, when I saw this challenge I was spoilt for choice. I decided to use my cupcake wrapping paper and the tag that came with it.

I used the wrapping paper for the background then kept it simple by using a brad to cover the whole where the cord had been for the gift tag to attach it to the card - it swings freely over the card. I then put the peel off on it (not sure about that) and then added a freebie sentiment from a magazine at the bottom.

all 4 seasons

The challenge on 365 cards today is all four seasons on one card. As soon as I saw this I knew the stamps I had to use - and then the song just popped into my head! (see inside the card, with a bit of artistic licence!)

I'm so excited - I won

You will see from my last post I was so ill last week. Then today I went back to work but had a terrible headache all day - came home and went to bed. Just logged onto Creative Inspirations Challenge Blog and found I won Challenge 11 last week with my heart shaped box below. My very first win.

I am so excited to have my work recognised in this way and am now even more addicted to blogland and challenges! Plus - my headache has gone, yipeeeeee!

Thanks also for the get well wishes, much appreciated.

single image

I have been soooooo ill since last Friday and had to take the week off work. By Wed I felt a lot better and thought I would be going back to work but no, it has been some sort of nasty gastric thing. So, I have been browsing the challenges but too ill to play until today!

I really wanted to have a go at the challenge on 365 cards which was a single stamped image and one sentiment. I got what I thought was the perfect stamp "My Mothers dress" and began.

I was only going to add the word "dream" but it didn't look right so I added the scroll. Had another go and yep couldn't resist adding that extra stamp!

So, here is my attempt with a completely different stamp!

Anything but a card or ATC!

The challenge over on creative inspirations challenge blog this week is anything but a card or ATC. So, here is a heart shaped box that I decoupaged over using an a couple of my old Mary Engelbreit calendars.

blush pink, lilac, mossy green with bling

This is my first attempt at designing a card for two challenges at once. Hopefully it satisfies both challenges. First Colour create and secondly a new blog for me the Saturday Challenge on Secret Crafter which I have only just made it into for this week!

The gingham ribbon down the side is actually on the inside edge of the card as you can see in the second photo below. There are some little lilac blings added in the centre of some of the flowers and a holographic peel off.

Pink and white

This is the card I have created for the Allsorts challenge on the theme "pink and white". I took a pre-embossed dovecraft card and then cut a fairy from some dovecraft paper which I have mounted on pads in the centre of the card. I also chalked over the card with pink chalk to highlight the embossing - not sure if I have now lost the "white" element though!

It's an anniversary card - but make it white

The theme for today on 365 Cards is an anniversary card with white as the theme. Here's what I have come up with as I couldn't resist the challenge. Finished my assignment today and had a few minutes spare and this card needed simplicity so didn't take long using a Sugar Nellie stamp and a Joanna Sheen sentiment stamp.

colours of the rainbow with optional scene

This is the card I have created for the Colour Create challenge this week. The background and ribbon actually came with one of the little dolls that you buy and of course I never throw anything away that can be reused for crafting! then I used a fan peel off over patterned orgami paper with a little coin peel off. Then a fortune cookie note and emblishment from an oriental kit.

paisley meets floral

This is the card I am entering for the challenge on 2 sketches 4 you. I have never made a card following a sketch before and it has really inspired me to do something different. Without this challenge I would not have thought of combining these two Anna Griffin papers. The border is K&Co and the embellishment from my stash and I have added some paisley peel offs. I am really pleased with the result.

a card for a male

I have made this card for the husband of a friend of mine (it's not his birthday til July - so don't show him the piccy ML!). It is double sided and you can see the back and front above. I am entering it into card challenge 10 on Creative Inspirations
