In the garden

I've had this little A Day for Daisies free digi for a couple of weeks, meaning to get a challenge card made based on their colour challenge. I realised the challenge is about to end and also the challenge on Sir Stampalot challenge for "in the garden". So this is my second post tonight, burning the midnight oil to get it done LOL! I wanted to experiment a bit more with my  dies and rather pleased how this turned out. I added some diamond dust to the flowers and a little bling around the sentiment. The paper border is a paper from Pink Petticoat.

Joy of Botox!

This is a card I made for OH's daughter using the cd rom from Joanna Sheen Viva La Divas, I printed the speech bubble separately and mounted onto pads. Just added the text to the top of the card.
I'd like to enter this card into Creative Card Crew challenge - humour.

It was my colleagues funeral today. I went to the Thanksgiving service and it was really lovely, some people shared memories of her, I don't know how they stood up to do it, but they managed. She was only 37 and had despite medical challenges lived life to the full, a very inspiring message that I hope I will remember when I moan.

LIM Week 56 - Don't Scrap It

The challenge this week on Less is More - is "don't scrap it", that is use up your scraps of paper, so that means I've also been waiting for the gates to open at Pixie's Crafty Snippets to show my card for this week.
After seeing a card on Sarita's blog this week I had an idea in my head for using half a nestie, and it fitted perfectly with this week's challenges, so here it is. Using SU scraps, a Gourmet Rubber sentiment and an Anna Griffin swirl. Butterflies from MS punch.
I do feel seeing everyone's LIM creations each week has helped me grow creatively and become a little more CAS when I want to be.

Just to brighten.........

This card is for the Digital Tuesday Challenge - make it sparkle and  Divas by Design challenge - bling it up. I've used a digi image of a chandelier from the Fashion Boutique CDrom by Debbi Moore. The bigger chandelier is debossed and parts of it filled with sparkly peel offs. The sentiment was a freebie from Jak Heath. (BTW Jak has the most fabulous ladybird set of papers free on her blog at the moment). Finished with some seam binding and distress inks.

Wings and legs

The challenge on CD Sunday challenge this week is Wings and Legs. Now I think they are expecting fairies, but I do like to be a bit different when entering their challenges so the little girl has legs (I know you can't see them) and the butterflies have wings! The image and sentiment is a PB stamp which I stamped over an image from a Debbi Moore CDrom, Shabby Cic - vintage flowers. I then mounted it onto a piece of paper I had left from another card, but gutted the middle so I still have some left! I coloured the image and sentiment with promarkers.
I'd also like to enter it into Cute card Thursday challenge- winged things. Right I need to get off to Rock Choir.

Spots and dots

I've used the Fashion Boutique Cdrom from Debbi Moore for the printed elements on this card. I ran some coredinations card through a spot folder and then sanded it down. finally I added my newest scrummy ribbon from Polka Doodles. The stamped sentiment is a  part of a  four sided stamp I got for a £1 ages ago.
I'd like to enter this card into CES challenges - spots and dots.

mono snippets

I just loved this digi image from Tiddlyinks, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it, but what to do with it. So she was coloured in with fleximarkers - that is why I have put the insert picture in to show she is coloured! As you can't really see it in the main picture. I also had this background of the Eiffel tower left over from a project last year. Suddenly I realised she looked rather good against it and that piece of purple card I had embossed and distressed ages ago fitted too. So a quick look in the snippet box and Oh no the chandelier paper was pink, so a application of ink with a duster and it toned beautifully. The snipped at the bottom is from a Debbie Moore cd and the final touch a freebie sentiment ticket.
This card is obviously for the playground at Pixie's Crafty workshop no 8, and also for Passion for Promarkers - distressing and Crafty Cardmakers - mono.

LIM Week 55 - theme, punches or dies

 and with the card closed......
The challenge on Less is More this week is to use punches or dies. I knew I wanted to achieve the effect of having a butterfly punched in the middle of the card - but how when the punch won't reach and I don't have a die. I scored the card - made this a feature of the card and used it to bend the card back to get the SU punch to reach to where I wanted it. I overstamped the butterfly on the inside of the card to give the effect of flight. The sentiment is from a PTI set.
I'd also like to enter the card into:-
Flutterby Wednesday's challenge - anything with wings
Divas by Design challenge- wings and things
Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT challenge - spring is in the air

My favourite things

A few challenges inspired this card
 Digi my world- pastel parade
CD Sunday - L is for  (lace)
Digital Tuesday -Use your stash
Crafty Catz- favourite things
Digi doodle - anything goes

Frequent visitors here will know that fashion is my passion and so that is why it is on this card as my fav things. The background shoe paper and sentiment are from the Debbi Moore Fashion Boutique CD and the lace is from her Diamond and Lace CD. The dress and mannequin are a digi from Digi My World. I added some Diamond Sparkles to the edges of the lace onto the printed gems.  The challenge from Digital Tuesday to use your stash prompted me to use a couple of CD roms - they may not take as much room as "real" stash but I am not getting around to using them!
I had today off and was hoping to get more done - as always. I have just had a call to say that a work colleague has died - I'm just a bit in shock right now.

Not square or rectangular

Not square or rectangular is the challenge on this week at Winter Wonderland, so this circle card cut with a couple of nesties should fit the bill. The design is based on a card I made a few weeks ago at the workshop with Leonie, I didn't have the exact same die for the scrolls so I improvised with what I had. The image is from Rubber Romance, careful if you google that!

I thought I would share the card I made for OH for valentines with you, it is only a free digital image with no other work, so I haven't entered it into any challenges. He loves a good pun, so this is right up his street LOL!

Attitude of gratitude

This is my snippet card for this week, don't forget to join in the fun in the playground over on Pixie's Crafty Workshop. As well as having a paper snippet box, I have a ribbon snippet box ( I know!) so everything is a snippet this week. I swiss embossed the brown paper which is some sort of tracing paper ages ago, just to see if I could and it never got used, the keys are left over from a card I did a few weeks ago. The little girls were stamped as part of a box frame I did but didn't get used. The main sentiment is from Rhonna Designs and was a freebie last year. I used some juniper and cloudy blue distress inks to tone in the paper with the rest of the card and also on the cardstock itself. So satisfying to use all these elements at last.
I'd also like to enter the card into these challenges:-
Papertake challenge- anything goes
One Stitch at a Time - anything goes
Stampin Sisters in Christ - cheerful

Stripes - simple?

My second post today, please scroll down for my earlier card.
The jury is out on whether my last card for Less is More qualifies as a one layer - so I thought I would have another go.....................I thought and thought - tried a couple of ideas and this is the best I can do! MFT stamps coloured  with fleximarkers. A little chocolate sprinkle heart for good measure with a brown promarker.
I'd also like to enter this card into Sweet Stampin' challenge who this week want to see CAS cards.

Love me love my dog

I've used a digi I got free ages ago from Meljen's Designs for this card, the sentiment was also a freebie from Cuddly Buddly. The red starry paper is from PTI, I then used two star stamps in red ink to co-ordinate on the remainder of the card. I coloured the images with promarkers and used a fawn fleximarker to give a shadow around the edges.
I had some lovely news today - my card here, won me the CD Sunday challenge and I got to pick the new Ooh La La shoes in bloom cd part 2 - yipee! Also Nikky at Polka Doodles is doing all her cd roms for £10 today- what a great price (yeah I may have bought one LOL!).

Allsorts challenge- free and easy

LIM week 54-one layer - stripes

The Challenge on Less is More this week is for a one layer card with stripes. I worry after I had done this card that because I have used stripes of tape to make the glitter lines it isn't one layer? That is all there is to it, just put the tape over a template and then cut away the excess, the glitter is Martha Stewart, added a SU sentiment.
I'd also like to enter this card into:-

DYSU challenge-love
PaperPlay challenges-love letters

steampunk vintage

Another card in a similar style to yesterday's. This time I wanted to use my new Kanban stamps - been trying to get to them for a couple of months now. I paper pieced two of the dress stamps. The Steampunk images are from a cd rom called "Clearly Bowed". The stamps are from the same set as the typewriter I used yesterday, I then punched some flowers and butterflies and added those.

Anything goes challenge-bingo grid - 2 or more stamped images, your choice(pearls) dies or punches
Crafters Companion challenge-anything goes
Crafts and Me challenge- new image

Simon says..........

This week Simon Says Stamp and Show torn edges, distress inks, a button and some wings! So here it is!
Now my blogging buddy Cheryl does this kind of thing all the time, and I love it, but I wasn't so sure when I tried it myself. The embossing folder is rather large so it didn't leave me a lot of room to get other details on, I am afraid I don't like using a paper and then hiding most of it LOL! I used TH distress inks on the embossing and some little stamps and some of my new friend the cosmic shimmer glue this time in gold. I then found this brown twill and some cream that I had forgotten all about - shame on me.
I'd like to enter the card into these challenges also:-
CES challenge blog - a sketch or give me wings or both
Charisma Cardz Challenge-vintage
Colour Create Challenge -light and dark browns with white and/or cream
Stampin' for the weekend challenge- embossing

A la mode

The challenge on CD Sunday challenge blog this week is "A la mode". I have been meaning to enter this challenge for the last few weeks but unfortunately Saturday lunchtime came around and I still hadn't done it, but made I've it this week. After all this is a challenge made for me and for my Ooh la la CD rom Shoes 1. I've added a digi from Create with TLC and coloured it with promarkers to tone with the shoe image. I then used some vellum, I hoard it because I never know what to do with it, but this just hit me as being so right for this card. I punched a border along one edge of the mat and used my new to me "cosmic shimmer" glue to finish the centre of each flower.
I was supposed to be driving to Gloucester today, I took the decision last night not to go and to cancel the meeting, as I was driving three other people - wondering today if it was the right one as the roads don't seem as bad, but I was putting safety first and for those who would be travelling from the south to meet us in Glos tomorrow. So, an evening of craft for me - hurrah (that wasn't the reason I cancelled - honestly!)

Snippet card

Back again with another post today and the reason is,  Oh I am feeling so smug! I made this card from the snippets from the last "hearts" card. I added a tag that I got as a freebie from here. The ribbon was tied around some cardstock and the little dog is a digi from Pink Gem. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set and its' first inking!

This is the second post from me today - scroll down for my Penny Black and More at Allsorts DT card.
There are lots of challenges about for hearts and love at the moment. I had just received as a free gift two sheets of paper that fitted the challenges perfectly. LIM week 53-colour aqua

The challenge over on Less is More this week is colour and the chosen colour is aqua. I've been itching to use these new inchies and a TH embossing folder. I punched the butterflies with a MS punch and nearly broke it twice, but of course I carried on, I think the paper being a woven texture wasn't really suitable for the punch..... I dusted over the embossing with TH old paper.
Well we have a little covering of snow here, I do hope it won't hang about for work on Monday!
I'd also like to enter this card into the Divas by design challenge - anything goes and Allsorts challenge blog - free and easy.
See my last post for a great blog hop with Flashback Friday that I am part o,f and also my blog candy ends tonight, so last chance to enter.
